Cathy and Don won many titles such as “World Professional Artistic Champions” and later when they traded in their skates for dance shoes they became “Disco Dance Champions of the United States.”

While on tour with the Ice Follies, Cathy began studying Energy Medicine, Body Electric, Kirlian photography, Rife machines. Cathy took many courses in the field of consciousness such as Silva Mind Control. In 1980 Cathy learned Transcendental Meditation and moved to Fairfield Iowa to further study consciousness at MIU. There, she studied Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Science of Creative Intelligence and took advanced courses in the TM Sidhi program where she earned a certificate as an “expert in the field of consciousness.”

Cathy nearly died in 1989 and was in critical condition in the IC unit at UNLV. The doctors told her that if she lived, she may never walk again and surely would never ice skate again.

Cathy began reading “Ayurveda, The Science of Life” by Vasant Ladd. In this book she found an herb, coriander, that helped her deal with the excruciating painful symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis.

Pix of Lido de Paris – This a picture of Cathy at the famous Lido de Paris in 1990 – one year after being told she would never be able to skate again. She chose not to believe that prognosis.

In 1991 Cathy became the Public Relations Director at Meadowlark Health Center.

Cathy says, “I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work for a year with Dr. Evarts Loomis at his groundbreaking retreat ‘Meadowlark” in Hemet CA. Evarts was known as the “Father of Holistic Health” and people that had been told they would never recover went to Meadowlark for a life changing experience. Evarts believed in “Medicine for the Whole Person” (a book he co-authored with Rev. Sig Paulson) and Meadowlark had programs for the body, mind and spirit. Clients either were on a supervised fast or had organic meals and there was color therapy and homeopathy and much more.

Cathy worked for 12 years with Books Are Fun and built the business from the ground up.  She produced over a million dollars in sales for many years and raised money for schools and charities. Cathy helped to launch the now famous “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series through her efforts with Books Are Fun.

Cathy is married and resides with her husband and animals in Escondido, California.  She loves dogs and has helped many rescue organizations especially in Rosarito Beach, Mexico.  Realizing that the real answer to animal overpopulation in Baja was Education and Sterilization, Cathy was compelled to produce a huge fundraising event to benefit Baja California Spay and Neuter.

She has 2 sons that are also in Holistic Health Profession.
